 Three Men Arrested In Newport Ram Raid

Police are investigating following a ram raid robbery at a grocery store in Newport this morning.

Just after 3 am a vehicle smashed through the Challis Street store where a number of cigarettes and alcohol were stolen.

The offenders fled the scene in two vehicles.

A short time later a white Commodore thought to be involved in the ram raid was found after it crashed near the Melbourne Road exit on the West Gate Freeway.

One man has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the crash on the West Gate. 

Three men have been arrested in St Albans over the incident.
