One person has been taken to hospital following a stabbing outside Melbourne Central.
Victoria Police spokesman Sergeant Cameron Scott told the Herald Sun it was believed two men, who may be known to each other, had an altercation in the shopping centre about 1.30pm.
The victim is a 28-year-old man from Doncaster. He was attacked with a box-cutter, Sgt Scott said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said one person had been taken to The Alfred hospital with upper body injuries and was in a stable condition.
Police blocked off the lower level to the shopping centre on Swanston St, opposite the State Library, about 2pm.
