New Study Finds Babies Who Are Breastfed Are Less Likely To Be Obese

People say “breast is best” and now a new study has found there's even more long term benefits to breastfeeding babies.

Researchers now say babies who are breastfeed for longer are less likely to be overweight.

A Canadian study looking at over 1000 babies looked at the babies’ gut bacteria. They believe babies who are breastfed are less likely to be overweight due to the healthy bacteria in the guy.

Dr Rick Gordon spoke about the study on the Today show this morning and he said mothers shouldn’t feel pressured to breastfeed if they aren’t able to.

“The first thing is nutrition… Feeding your baby is the ultimate, but breastfeeding might be the preferred option – if you can.”
