A fire has destroyed more than half a million dollar’s worth of wine at a Victorian winery.
Mornington Peninsula winery Ten Minutes By Tractor suffered a horrific fire on Sunday afternoon, destroying the winery’s cellar, buildings and several restored tractors.
The restaurant’s owner, Martin Spedding, told Broadsheet the collection contained rare bottles as well as part of the winery’s past vintages and was estimated to be worth over $500,000.
"Both the winery and restaurant have been spared and nobody seriously injured," the restaurant said in an Instagram statement. "Sadly we have lost many of our beloved possessions including vintage wines and our 1928 Fordson and 1938 Allis Chalmers Tractors."
The winery's business has now been relocated to Petit Tracteur close by.
