Hungry breakfast-seekers were in for a shock at the drive thru this morning, with McDonald’s not selling their iconic hash browns.
A sign in a drive-thru confirmed the rumours: 'Due to national supply issues we are unable to sell hash browns at this time,'
Rumours flew all over social media: had they been recalled due to a health and safety issue? Had they failed to arrive?
A McDonald’s spokesperson has confirmed some stores, mostly in Victoria, had run out of hash browns due to a distribution issue, but assured customers they’d be restocked soon.
“A small number of our restaurants ran low on hash browns this morning due to a temporary distribution issue with one of our suppliers - this primarily impacted restaurants in Victoria. All effected restaurants will be re-stocked today.”
It's worth remembering hash browns are now on the all-day menu - so you'll be able to get your fix later today.
