The driver of a vehicle which allegedly hit seven schoolchildren and one adult has been charged with dozens of offences.
The 35-year-old woman who was struck, Michelle Nash, said that she was waiting with some children for the green signal to cross the road when a ute came straight towards them on Friday.
According to 9 News, Ms Nash said that she can recall being hit and thrown into the air due to the impact of the crash.
Another witness has described the scene as a "bombsite", with the seven children hit by the car.
“It's obviously very distressing incident for all people involved - but the community can be assured that there is no further threat,” Detective Senior Sergeant Melissa Nixon said.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and has been charged with 41 offences, including the theft of a motor vehicle, speed in a dangerous manner, reckless contact causing serious injury and unlicensed driving.
He is due to appear in court later today.
