A Melbourne freeway has been closed inbound after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car and a truck.

It is believed the pedestrian was struck by a car and truck on the inbound lanes of the Princes Freeway in Laverton, just before 5.30am on Monday.

Both vehicles stopped at the scene to help.

The Princes Freeway is closed Melbourne-bound in Laverton at Forsyth Road and drivers are being urged to take alternative routes, expect significant delays, or delay their trip if possible.
