A $500,000 reward is being offered after a woman was dragged from a busy road in broad daylight and sexually assaulted in a vacant home in Melbourne three years ago.
Police announced the reward on Thursday and will set up an information caravan near the corner of Burwood Highway and Station St, Burwood.
It was there that a 21-year-old woman was walking about 10am on a Thursday morning in January 2014 when she was grabbed from behind by a man and dragged into an abandoned house.
He then physically and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
Police have released a digital image of the man, described as between 35 and 45 years of age and wearing a brown jacket and tan-coloured clothes.
At the time of the assault, investigating officers described the attack as "vicious".
"We know there are people out there that must have seen something and just don't realise its importance," Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Walsh said in 2014.
Police are set to speak to the media later on Thursday.
