The Mexican celebration Cinco de Mayo has come around again on Saturday May 5th. For those who aren’t familiar, the day represents the Mexican army’s victory over the French Empire in the Battle of Puebla. It isn’t their independence day but still stands as an important event for the country.
Many places around Melbourne will be celebrating the event, and here are a few to check out if you are feeling festive…
1. Huxtaburger, multiple locations
One of Melbourne’s favourite burger chains will hand out FREE Jose Cuervo margaritas when you purchase their limited edition ‘The Abby’ burger. For $13.90, it is quite the deal!
2. Wilson & Market, Prahran
This dining spot will host a Cinco de Mayo fiesta. $75pp gets you unlimited food and beverages as well as a couple of cookbooks so you can recreate Mexican feasts.
3. Guzman y Gomez, multiple locations
Run into your local store and grab a burrito, bowl or even a Corona for $5! Now that’s a cheap meal…
