 All The Public Transport Info You Need For White Night

Public transport is an excellent way to access White Night Melbourne, but please keep in mind that demand can be high during peak times. Public transport will run all night, on all modes – however it will not be free; you will still need to top up and use your myki.

PTV SERVICES AVAILABLE

Metropolitan Trains

From 7.00pm–11.00pm trains will be running every 15 to 30 minutes on all lines.
From 11.00pm–3.30am trains will be running every 30 minutes on all lines.
From 3.30am–6.30am trains will be running every 60 minutes on all lines.

Flinders Street Station will have a one-way exit via Elizabeth Street and Southbank. 

Metropolitan Trams 

All routes will be running all night except for the City Circle tram and routes 78 and 82.

From 5.00pm–1.00am, trams will be running every 5 to 10 minutes.
From 1.00am–3.00am, trams will be running every 15 to 20 minutes.
From 3.00am–7.30am, trams will be running every 30 minutes.

Metropolitan Buses

From 1.30am–6.30am Night Buses will be running every 30 minutes.

Due to road closures, all CBD buses will operate from the West Bus Hub on Queen Street and from the East Bus Hub in Spring Street from 5.00pm on Saturday until 8.00am on Sunday. 

Night Coach

Between 2.00am and 2.15am, Night Coach service will depart Southern Cross Coach Terminal for Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Seymour and Traralgon.

HELPFUL HINTS

To plan your public transport route, download the PTV app for real-time travel updates.

Consider alighting at Melbourne Central train station to avoid congestion at Flinders Street Station.

On the night, please check the PTV Live travel updates page for notification of any service changes that may affect your journey to and from the event.

  PARKING

Road closures will be in place for the event, beginning from 3pm on Saturday 18 February, and some car parks in the central CBD will not be accessible on the night. We recommend parking at the edges of the CBD and walking into the event precinct.

Wilson Parking will be offering White Night attendees a $5 Book A Bay parking rate, available from 6.00pm Saturday 18 February until 8.00am Sunday 19 February, 2017.
