A union rally is set to bring Melbourne’s CBD to a halt today, with over 150,000 protestors expected.
The ACTU’s Change the Rules campaign is calling for better working conditions and pay, with today’s rally starting at Trades Hall on the corner of Lygon and Victoria streets at about 10:30am before marching through the city.
The rally is expected to close roads on Lygon Street, Victoria Street, Swanston Street and La Trobe Street.
The march will go down Russell and La Trobe streets before going down Swanston Street to Flinders Street Station.
Public Transport Victoria says that tram operations will be limited from around 9:30 until midday.
