Guest speakers and a morning tea was held this morning to celebrate 25 years of service provided by BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba.
Since July 1992 the BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service has carried out more than 350,000 free breast screens.
Health Promotion officer Nicola Garrett says the service has grown considerably since that first year with 4,500 screens now averaging around 19,000 a year.
The service has helped a number of women across Surat, Mitchell and Wallumbia.
The service started in the Garden City in July 1992 with a mobile service starting in November that year which visited areas across South West Queensland.
