Mackay residents looking to get their hands on spanner crabs have just one day left

The Supreme court has ruled on the future of the Central Queensland coal rail network. The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed the decision to dismiss Aurizons legal challenge to the draft decision of the Queensland Competiton Authority. The decision allows the QCA to finalise its decision on the future management of the rail network.

Mackay residents looking to get their hands on spanner crabs have just one day left. The annual closed season for recreational and commercial fishers commences tomorrow. The closure applies to all Queensland waters and runs until midnight on the 15th December

The annual barramundi closed season will also come into effect for Mackay's fishermen. It starts from midday tomorrow and runs until the first of February next year. Fisheries Officers will be stepping up surveillance to protect the species from all commercial and recreational fishers.
