All lanes are blocked on the PEAK DOWNS HIGHWAY following a heavy truck rollover. Queensland Fire and Emergency confirming the truck was on fire after it rolled at ETON earlier this morning. Emergency services remain on scene with motorists asked to avoid the area. Long delays can be expected for those who are trying to drive through.

POLICE have been busy in MACKAY with a manhunt taking several hours yesterday. Officers cordoning off a block in NORTH MACKAY around 11 yesterday when a man allegedly assaulted a POLICE OFFICER and ran through backyards headed for PIONEER RIVER. His trail was lost just before midday with POLICE returning to normal duties


Two run away prisoners have been reported to be in MACKAY. 25 year old LEVI BROWN and 21 year old NELSON KEPA slipped custody MONDAY with reports they had stolen a ute and were driving North from ROCKHAMPTON


Families in MACKAY and THE WHITSUNDAYS are being asked to make the switch to the new child care and early learning subsidy system. New data showing that with just weeks to go until the July 2nd switch only about 48 per cent of families have changed over. Member for Dawson George Christensen says families need to apply for a new Government subsidy.
