Tropical cyclone warnings remain current as Iris continues to track off the East Coast. A Warning zone in place from Bowen to Yeppoon including Mackay and The Whitsundays. The cell is currently sitting 300 kilometers north of Mackay tracking slowly south east. Residents are told to expect gale force winds and heavy rainfall leading to potential flash flooding. While it is expected to weaken and move offshore tomorrow Mayor Greg Williamson says residents should remain vigilant. The North Queensland Bulk Ports closes access to public assets in preparation for Tropical Cyclone Iris. Mackay's Southern Breakwater and Bowen Jetty closed for public safety with cyclone readiness plans put into action.
