An Owens Creek man has been arrested following a traffic incident in Mirani. The 29 year old was searched around 10 Monday morning when he allegedly tried to drive away hitting a police officer. The Officer escaped serious injury and the man was found shortly after and allegedly in possession of meth, drug utensils and a syringe. He faced Mackay magistrates court yesterday.

Australia's Mining industry has returned from the dead. Recent reports show the industry is set to deliver a record $250 billion in exports to the economy this year. Figures were part of an in depth federal government report released yesterday. Queensland Resources Council CEO Ian Mcfarlane says there's a lot of confidence back in the Mackay region.

The BHP Local Buying program has hit a significant milestone. Contributing two hundred and fifty million dollars towards small businesses across AUSTRALIA. C-Res CEO Tracey Cuttriss-Smith says she is happy to see what the Program can do for small businesses in Mackay and their contribution to the community.

Six artists have been named for the Whitsundays Reef Recovery Project. They've been selected following a global Expression of Interest which saw 73  submissions.

The Australian Rugby League commission has selected the Kangaroos Squad. Mackay product Daly Cherry Evans has made the side for the test matches against New Zealand and Tonga. He comes from the 2018 season where he played for the Sea Eagles and is keen for a run on.
