Proserpine mill is crushing strong for the sixth week in a row. Crushing a total of almost eighty eight thousand tonnes marking another week the mill throughput has exceeded budget. The news means Proserpine is around 17 per cent ahead of the season to date budget. Average weekly C-C-S has improved on last week up by point four five of a unit

 

A Mackay business developing a new system to produce circuit boards receives public attention. Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert announced the Mackay based Innovatium is one of seventy companies that will receive a grant from the State Government. They'll receive a hundred thousand dollars in Ignite Ideas Funding to help commercialise their system and upscale. Principal Don Ingram has been designing and producing prototype printed circuit boards for four decades

 

Mackay is getting ready to host the 7th annual International Film Festival. The event aims to show diverse cultures from around the world to a Mackay audience through film. The films screened aren't normally shown in the region and for some it'll be the first time they get to see them. It gets underway from 7:30 tomorrow night with the first film The Other Side of Hope with tickets available from Mackay City Cinema

 

VICAR OF DIBLEY fans only have a couple of weeks left until the live production starts in MACKAY. The KUCOM THEATRE bringing the production to life next month. DIRECTOR BRONWYN GRANALL says it's being bought to life by a full local cast. Lead actor DAVID HORTON will be shaving his head tomorrow in the lead up to the performance 

 

Cutters are hoping to use momentum from last weekend to face REDCLIFFE DOLPHINS this week. Coach Steve Sheppard says he has faith last week’s 17 can do an even better job this round. They face off in Redcliffe from 2:30 Saturday. While a win won't move them up the ladder, they are hoping a strong showing will boost morale.

Over 60's cricketers from the Eastern States will be hitting sixes at Harrup Park over the next week. From Sunday twelve teams will pound the wickets in their 2nd Annual Winter Carnival. Mackay was chosen to host thanks to  the facilities at the Park
