Two men have been arrested for alleged high end speeding incidents in ETON. A 21 year old was allegedly travelling 127 in an 80 zone around 8 yesterday morning. Only an hour later in the exact same spot a 29 year old man was allegedly caught doing 144. Both men were given a twelve hundred dollar on the spot fine, and a six month driver’s license suspension

Mackay glitters and shines for the Queensland Mining Awards. Kicking off last night it hosted top mining industry personnel. Wolff Mining walked away the Mining Contractor of the Year

 

Students from across the region are converging on CQU's Ooralea campus to crack chemistry codes. The CQ regional leg of the Australian National Titration Competition is in its thirtieth year with competitors getting the chance to operate in a University lab. University Lecturer Leanne Voss says the event aims to shine a light on scientific studies in MACKAY

 

Mackay locals suffering from Type two diabetes are being invited to a range of courses in MACKAY. Tomorrow the Jubilee Community Centre will host two short workshops called CarbSmart and MedSmart. While on Saturday they're hosting a full day workshop to discuss Diabetes education, and self-management. Mackay basketball fans are in for a treat this weekend. The Meteors and Meteorettes taking it to the home courts tomorrow night to take on IPSWICH FORCE. The men’s side is sitting ninth on the ladder but top ranked METEORS won't let that get in their head. While the ladies have a tough battle against their second ranked opponents
