A NORTH MACKAY man has been arrested after allegedly blowing five times the legal limit. The 24 year old was allegedly driving down the highway with a flat rear tyre, his headlights off and hazards on when POLICE pulled him over. They further allege he blew a reading of zero point two six four. He'll face MACKAY MAGISTRATES COURT next month


POLICE are urging MACKAY businesses and residents to lock up their vehicles. It comes after a spate of car thefts around the region. Most recently a Toyota Landcruiser was stolen and used to run down a POLICE Officer. The incident lead to the arrest of escaped prisoner LEVI BROWN


The LIBERAL Party wants to break electricity monopoly in the MACKAY region. They say they want to increase competition in the regions in a way that is currently only seen in the SOUTH EAST. LNP Leader Deb Frecklington says it'll bring down prices in REGIONAL QUEENSLAND
