Mackay is saying no to domestic violence. More funding and a new aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service will be set up in the region. Mayor Greg Williamson says Police are being used as mediators too often.

 

Mackay's Sandy Gully Bridge and Approaches Upgrade Project is up for a top State Award. Announced as a finalist in the Queensland Civil Construction Awards. Project staff who worked with civil constructing business Vasallo Constructions will head to the Gold Coast next month hoping to take out the top spot. Winners will be announced September 7

 

Kids touched by cancer in Mackay and The Whitsundays will be able to see the Camp Quality puppets. They're touring our region today and tomorrow to help children understand cancer and dispel myths when it comes to those living with it. Organiser and Puppeteer James Trigg explains what they do.

 

One of the world's most loved musicals is in Mackay. Phantom of the Opera will be performed at the MECC with shows scheduled to start tonight running all weekend. Performed by Triple Threat Theatre Company it's definitely a show not to be missed. 

Mackay Meteors are ready to storm the court in front of an eager home crowd. Continuing their stellar season they will take to The Crater Saturday night to face Cairns Marlins. Their opponents took down Logan Thunder last weekend with a massive 15 threes. Meteors Coach Cameron Tragardh says our lads are the better side and won't give Marlins the chance to run the court like Logan did

 

Mackay Harley Davidson is holding their first thunder run this weekend. The event will be held from noon Saturday until midnight with all bikes welcome. The day will consist of a Poker Run from Peel Street to the Pinnacle Family Hotel where the festival begins
