Over a grands worth of diesel has been stolen from a heavy vehicle in Mount Pleasant. The incident happened around 1:30 Tuesday morning. With the thief also trying to get the fuel from other vehicles on site without success. Police have received several CCTV images from the incident and are investigating. Mackay and Whitsundays residents are being called on to nominate a mobile black spot. Member for Dawson George Christensen announced yesterday he has re-opened the Mobile Black Spot Program's Database of Reported Black Spot Locations. It gives locals the chance to call out mobile black spots and encourage investment by carriers in the area.

The Walk on Water Challenge is coming to Mackay. Cootharinga North Queensland bringing the event to town.. Where CEO's, councillors and community leaders will race across Blue Water Lagoon, competing for the champion crown.It's all to raise funds for people living with a disability in the Mackay community. Cootharinga North Queensland CEO Peter Mewett says it follows a successful inaugural event in Townsville.

Up and coming Mackay racer Declan Fraser is off to Sandown this weekend. He's competing in round 4 of the Toyota 86 racing series. The event is one of the support categories for the Supercars race down in Melbourne. The 18 year old hoping one day to crack into the main race, Fraser confident of putting in a good drive.
