Police are investigating after a hooning incident in Andergrove. Reportedly responding to the incident after 10 triple zero calls about a vehicle driving recklessly on BANKSIA AVENUE around 10:30 Monday night. Officers allege they saw burnout skid marks on the road and watched on as the car hit a roundabout. They say the male driver was driving drunk while disqualified. A 31 year old man was arrested and is due to face MACKAY MAGISTRATES COURT on July second.

A new transport plan has been unveiled for the region. It aims to put a framework in place for developing the region's transport system and steering relevant planning and investment. Member for MACKAY Julieanne Gilbert says we need to be forward thinking when it comes to roads and infrastructure.

 

Despite promises for funding for roads and infrastructure some argue priorities have turned to education and services. Whitsundays M-P Jason Costigan says roads in the region have been neglected too long

 

MACKAY outperforms at the P-B-R Global Cup. Ky Hamilton and Michael Paton making the journey to Sydney over the weekend to compete. Alongside fourteen of the country’s top cowboys they battled it out against Brazil, Mexico, Canada and the U-S. Both men scoring in the 80s in their round one performances

 

MACKAY has had a huge trophy haul at the Women's N-Q Junior Team Challenge. The Gymnastic comp held last week in TOWNSVILLE saw MACKAY Gymnastics take out a swag of trophies and individual medals
