A breath of fresh air for fish in Mackay. Council installing three different devices to improve oxygenation of the upper pool of the Gooseponds. The works getting underway Tuesday to reduce the number of fish kills occurring on a seasonal basis. Oxygen stress resulting in the death of fish in the ponds over many years


More money to be had for The Whitsundays. FEDERAL member for DAWSON George Christensen saying he's going into bat for the region. With over three billion dollars announced in the Federal Budget over one billion of that is not yet earmarked for specific projects. Mr Christensen says he will work to secure about three hundred million of that for the Gooranga Plains upgrade near PROSERPINE. As well as working to secure Stage 2 of the MACKAY Ring Road project.


A new tourism campaign is helping to showcase THE WHITSUNDAYS to the world. Social media influencers are making their way from CAIRNS to BUNDABERG and everywhere in between.... documenting their time to their thousands of  followers. Tourism and Events Queensland Consumer PR leader SHELLEY WINKEL says it's something new they've never tried before. 

The Proserpine High School Musical is back. Due to Cyclone Debbie the crew have had to hold the 5 performances in the school hall. A mammoth 12 month effort to bring the show to life so don't miss out.
