A woman has been airlifted to Mackay Hospital after rolling her car near Nebo. The Prado rolled just after 5:30 FRIDAY when on route from Moranbah. A 49 year old woman was lucky to escape serious injury with early indications she fractured her arm. Traffic was blocked in both directions on the PEAK DOWNS HIGHWAY causing traffic chaos. 10 people have been charged for weapons and drug offences in Mackay over the weekend. Search warrants were executed as part of OPERATION QUEBEC MASON. The arrests were made in Sarina, Mackay and Grasstree beach. 

 

Mackay locals are being urged to donate any food or none perishable food items. The council and local charities teaming up to launch the FOOD DRIVE this year in the lead up to Christmas. United church's doctor Julia Pitman says the community has always got behind campaigns like this. Nominations are now open for the 2019 Telstra Business Women's Awards recognising successful female Mackay community leaders. 2018 winner Violet Roomaleeotis who's not for profit business helps refugees and asylum seekers  says the accolade opened plenty of doors for her

 

It's Nneighborhood watch Week and there are plenty of activities across the region. Tomorrow head down to Dispensary on Wood street from 7 to ten for a display and information stall. Shoal Point play park will host a beach cuppa and chat with locals Wednesday with the coffee then flowing Thursday at Marian Shopping centre.

 

Around 200 people have taken to the water for Mackay's First ever inflatable boat race. Decked out in their weirdest, wackiest and most colourful attire the community rallied at Eiemo beach. Raising money for the local Surf Club and Tour De Cure
