Willful damage charges for a Bowen Youth The boy was identified by CCTV footage throwing something at the front of a shop on January 25 . This was the latest incident in a string of attacks on local businesses throughout the month. He will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act

Rockhampton prison escapee arrested in Mackay. Jermaine Anderson was arrested without incident yesterday afternoon after allegedly being on the run since Sunday. Fronting the Mackay Magistrates Court he didn't enter a plea.He will reappear today

Midge Point residents brace for erosion in wake of king tide. While tides lapped at the levee created in defence of Cyclone Debbie residents are concerned it isn't enough. Weather reports predict another big tide and strong onshore winds to hit the region again today. If the levee is breached it could drastically affect homes on Nielsen Parade

Plans to redevelop the Mackay riverfront and town beach. Council hoping to attract the attention of the state government to transform the area. They'll meet next week to discuss what to do, with a possible water park and volleyball court on the cards.
