Two men  have been arrested following a lengthy search in BAKERS CREEK. The men were on the run for an alleged armed robbery of a MOUNT PLEASANT fast food outlet on June 21st and an alleged break and enter at a PAGET gun shop on Friday night. They were found in bushland allegedly riding stolen quad bikes yesterday around 2:30 and will face MACKAY MAGISTRATS COURT later today

 

As we kick off NAIDOC WEEK MACKAY residents are invited to a Flag Raising Ceremony. The MACKAY COUNCIL in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health are hosting the ceremony on the Civic Precinct lawns near the fountain. During the ceremony the Australian, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags will be raised by special community guests. It gets under way with a community breakfast kicking off at 8:30
