A 53 year old BALL BAY man is in a MACKAY court next month over CHILD GROOMING charges. POLICE alleging the man groomed a 12 year old girl over a four month period. DETECTIVE INSPECTOR BRENDAN SMITH says it started around OCTOBER last year.

A motorbike and two quads have been stolen from a shipping container and shed at SAINT LAWERENCE. POLICE believe they were taken sometime this month with forced entry on both occasions. Police are asking anyone with information to call POLICELINK

An ANDERGROVE woman is up for an award for the work she does in the community. POLICE officer SAMANTHA BLISS has been nominated for an AUSTRALIAN PACIFIC LNG COMMUNITY AWARD. She's in the running to win the QUEENSLAND COMMUNITY AWARD. MRS BLISS says she sits on a number of different boards.. including the P-C-Y-C 

Two MACKAY mystery shoppers are waking up winners. The two unregistered entries were among the 10 division one winners across the country on Saturday night with each taking home one prize of two million dollars. Anyone who bought a ticket from Nextra Caneland and Trader Petes at Hamilton Island could be our lucky millionaires. They can’t be contacted by Gold Lotto and the town waits with baited breath for the winners to come forward

Another loss for our MAGPIES CRUSADERS in a three week goal drought. Going down 5 nil to LIONS F-C over the weekend but still keeping positive for games ahead. A lack of concentration and composure have been blames for the squads recent performance.
