Police are urging Mackay resident to keep an eye out for a Mazda CX5 which has been stolen. It's just one car out of four that have been used by teenagers believed to have travelled north to Townsville. A 15 year old girl has been arrested over the thefts.

Mackay received a visit from Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations Grace Grace yesterday. She's announced the next round of projects for our region through the $400 million dollar works for Queensland program. Mackay Regional Council will receive $10.59 million dollars for 28 projects- the Whitsunday Regional Council will receive $ 4.07 million for 13 projects

Mackay's eat street food festival has been cancelled- expected to pick up again next year. Lighting towers at Harrup Park are being pulled down next month to make way for the upgraded grounds.

It's been revealed in the past 12 months there have been more reported acts of violence against Mackay health staff than there were days. Data by the Mackay Hospital and Health Service reveal 261 incidents were reported in the 2015/16 year but this year that number reached 385. Body cameras will soon be used to help in altercations- they're similar to the cameras the Queensland Police Service use.

Mackay District Hack and Pony Club, the Women's Centre and the Boxing club have all been successful is receiving funding from the Mackay Council's community grants program.Councilor Fran Mann says they were overwhelmed with the number of applicants.

Fire and rescue displays will be on at the North Mackay Fire Station tomorrow.The Holts road address will put on a sausage sizzle too from 10 to 3- raising funds the Children's hospital foundation.
