Major Crash Investigators have arrested a Naracoorte teen, following a fatal smash on the Riddoch Highway.

 

Just before 4.30 pm Saturday September 1st, a car had reportedly crashed into a barrier before rolling off the road and colliding with a pole.

 

A passenger in the vehicle, a 23 year old Victorian man, had died at the scene.

 

A 22-year-old passenger was flown to Flinders Medical Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle has been charged with a number of offenses,  including aggravated cause death, and cause injury by dangerous driving, driving unlicensed, and drink driving - after he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.107.

 

The arrested man has been refused police bail and will appear in Mount Gambier Magistrate's Court today.
