Most households in the District Council of Grant municipality are expected to see a rate increase; Council officially adopting the 2018 - 2019 Budget.

 

 

An average increase of 2.3% will be in the cards for most households, the budget providing or expenditure of over 14 million dollars.

 

 

$570,000 will be allocated for kerbing and channelling of township streets.

 

 

$400,000 is expected to be handed down for the sealing of a 2km section of Mingbool Road.

Completion of the multi-million dollar Waterfront project and the continuation of projects from the River and Coastal and Port MacDonald Masterplans are also priorities of the plan.

 

 

During the financial period, Council are expected their net financial liabilities to decrease by $328,000 to 3.2 million at the 30th of June 2019.

 

 

The first round of Council rates will be due on the 7th of September 2018.
