Hooked on Portland

Officials are celebrating the success of the Hooked on Portland Festival, with the event locked in for next year.

The fest attracted more than 10 thousand people to the region, booking out accommodation and adding more than 2 million dollars to the local economy.

Saturday was the biggest day of the festival - with people taking in the festival either down at the foreshore, on board one of the many tours offered, or taking part in the fishing competition.

Melbourne’s Mason Shulze took out the heaviest senior tuna prize, reeling in a 25kg haul.

Casterton’s Mark Nolte claimed the prize for the heaviest King Fish on the day, with Josh Cahill winning the prize for the heaviest salmon.

Officials have confirmed the festival will be back for the next year.
