Domestic Violence Crisis support on the Limestone Coast is set to see a boost, the State Government announcing funds as a part of the upcoming State Budget.

$1.66 million in funds have been announced ahead of the upcoming State Budget.

The funds will work to help Women's Safety Services SA to employ additional staff to expand their crisis hotline, to extend the service to run 24 hours a day.

Currently, the Limestone Coast Domestic Violence Service has 3 full time equivalent case managers to cover the entire region.

Member for Mount Gambier Troy Bell has applauded the move, saying he will seek to ensure the regions are not being left behind when it came to both services and facilities.

Mr Bell says securing funding for more staff and support services for regional South Australia was essential.
