The dairying community of Mount Schank has been named the 2017 Legendairy Capital of South Australia - joining seven other Legendairy capitals across the country's dairy regions.
Mount Schank will now recieve a 25 hundred dollar community grant to upgrade the popular playground at the local Tennis Club.
In September, the community will have a one in eight chance to be named Australia's Legendairy Capital the successful community will recieve a further 75 hundred to go towards a local initiative.
Suzi O'Dell from Dairy Australia says it's all about celebrating our regional and rural communities and how the dairy industry helps put them 'on the map'.
Mount Schank now joins seven other LEGENDAIRY Capitals from across the country’s dairy regions. The eight LEGENDAIRY Regional Capitals for 2017 are:
1. Poowong (Gippsland)
2. Cohuna (Murray Region)
3. Hannam Vale (New South Wales)
4. Mount Schank (South Australia)
5. Beaudesert (Subtropical Region)
6. Ringarooma (Tasmania)
7. Cowaramup (Western Australia)
8. Simpson (Western Victoria)
