There’s only 2 weeks left for Victorian community sports clubs to apply for VicHealth Active Club Grants. These grants will help clubs to create new sporting opportunities for females and less active Victorians.
Funding of up to $10,000 is available for clubs to improve the physical health and mental wellbeing of local residents and sports participants.
VicHealth CEO Jerril Rechter said that the Active Club Grants have the potential to make a significant impact on communities through creating more sporting opportunities.
“We’ve simplified the grant application process, so club administrators and volunteers can spend more time on building their club and focusing on helping their members get active, and less time on administration.”

Statistics have shown that female participation in sport is still lower than male participation, for reasons including lack of opportunity, time and self-confidence. The grants are an initiative to encourage community sports clubs more fully involve women and girls.
Visit the VicHealth website to find out more information or to apply for an Active Club Grant. Applications will close on Friday 31stAugust.
