A Local Team Is Travelling The Entire Murray River On Water Skis

People have swam, kayaked, even jet skied the length of the Murray River, but no one has ever attempted to do it on water skis - Until now.

It all began, when two mates, Scott Collins and Ben Berry were discussing bucket lists.

Ben Berry, who works on the Murray River rehabilitating river banks and Scott Collins, an entrepreneur and owner of a successful metal fabrication company both have passion for water skiing and growing up on the river.

A cause close to their hearts, after Collins lost both his Mother and Aunty to the disorder and has supported the organisation for many years.

“People with Cystic Fibrosis have challenges every moment of their lives. The support from their families and friends is also tireless. We reckon, by skiing Australia’s most iconic river, we can do a little bit to help. We’re also looking to others to sponsor, support or donate.”

CF is the most common inherited, life threatening disorder in Australia with no cure.

“We know that lots of organisations are looking for people to give to their cause. Rest assured that every dollar you donate will be forwarded directly to CF Community Care to support CF research, support services and advoacy in Australia”.

Berry and Collins are travelling from Jinjelic to below the barrage at Goolwa in South Australia with a local team to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

It's a feat not for the faint hearted - The Upper Murray River is not onlyfreezing; it can be shallow and really winding, but are up for the challenge.
