A 34-year-old woman has been charged over the death of her passenger, after the car she was driving crashed into the Tweed River last year.
A 53-year-old woman suffered critical injuries in the crash at Condong, south-west of Tweed Heads, on September 23.
She passed away in hospital on October 12.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at a home in Queensland yesterday, by officers from the Richmond Crash Investigation Unit.
She was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving causing death and not keeping left of the dividing line.
The woman is due to appear in the Murwillumbah Local Court on May 23.
