A teenager is fighting for life this morning after crashing down an embankment in the hinterland overnight.
The 17-year-old's sedan was apparently spotted in a valley off The Panorama at Tallai by two passing joggers around 7:30 on Tuesday night.
David Braithwaite from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has told Nine News they had to use an extension ladder and ropes to get down to vehicle.
"Once we got down there the casualty was unconscious and trapped, so there was a fair bit of urgency to get work done," he said.
It took 45 minutes to cut the teen free, but he was eventually able to be stretchered out of the valley to a waiting ambulance which took him to the Gold Coast Uni hospital with critical injuries including a head injury and several broken bones.
The Forensic Crash Unit's looking into the cause of the crash.
