Special 'Games Lanes' Being Painted On Major Gold Coast Roads

It's not just the M1 affected by the Commonwealth Games.

A series of special 'Games Lanes' are being marked around some of the major venues this week.

From late March only accredited vehicles will be able to use them, to make sure officials and athletes get where they need to be on time.

Regular drivers will be able to use them for up to 100 metres to turn at an intersection or to enter a property, or otherwise risk being hit with a SPER fine.

Works are happening on Smith Street, the Gold Coast Highway, the corner of Nerang-Broadbeach Road and Hooker Boulevard, and the intersection of Ross Street and Olsen Avenue.
