Premier apologises for pink-bike tradie

"I don't want anyone to feel upset"

Premier apologises for pink-bike tradie

The Premier has apologised to Gold Coast tradies offended by a new Commonwealth Games travel advice campaign.

An ad, encouraging people to ditch their cars and walk or ride to work during April's major sporting event, features an animated builder riding a little, pink bike with his tools in the basket.

Some tradies reckon the ad is poking fun at their very real travel concerns, saying leaving the car at home is simply not a real option for most, considering all the tools and equipment needed to do their jobs.

While on the coast on Wednesday, Annastacia Palaszczuk said sorry.

"I don't want anyone to feel upset. I don't want anyone to feel that people are having a laugh at them," she said.

"If people are feeling that way I apologise and I think Commonwealth Games people should apologise as well".
