No-one hurt in Movie World mishap

UPDATE: Movie World says an investigation is underway into Wednesday morning's malfunction that left 20 people stranded on the top of its Arkham Asylum rollercoaster.

A mechancial glitch struck the ride's chain around 11.40am, with the last of the passengers rescued shortly before 1.30pm.

None of those on board the ride were injured.

Movie World general manager Greg Yong said guest safety was never in question.

"This is a typical safety stop for us, there are no injuries, there were no accidents, our teams are very much trained to do these evacuations," he said.

Mr Yong said it would take some time to complete the investigation into the incident.

"These kind of mechancial issues are something that take us a little bit of time to investigate, so we do need to take some time to review that."
