Man Dies In Unit Fire At Tweed Heads

Body found after blaze

A man has died in a fatal house fire at Tweed Heads this morning.

Emergency services were called to a blaze at a unit in Flamingo Pl at 9:15am on Tuesday, with reports the building was well alight.

Fire crews managed to extinguish the flames, but the unit had already been gutted.

New South Wales police have since confirmed a body was found during a search of the home.

It is believed to belong to a man in his 60s.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated, but at this stage investigators say there is nothing to suggest it was suspicious.
