How impressive was that light show last night?
More than 250,000 lightning strikes were recorded across South-East Queensland during that storm on Sunday night, taking out power to around a 130,000 homes.
The lights went out for 3,000 properties on the northern end of the Gold Coast, with more than 600 of those still without electricity early on Monday morning, mostly in the Cedar Creek, Alberton, Stapylton area.
Further north in Logan, 58,000 properties were left in the dark, with Energex still working to get the power back on to 46,000 homes and business there12 hours later.
Meantime, The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting more storm activity for Monday evening.
