A man will face court next month accused of car-jacking a Good Samaritan in flood-ravaged Murwillumbah.
The 36-year-old flagged a lift from a man in Wharf Street about 2.45am Wednesday.
As they headed north up the M1, he then allegedly threatened the motorist with a rock, demanding he get out of the car, before continuing up the motorway towards the Gold Coast.
The man handed himself into police later in the morning.
He was charged with aggravated take and drive motor vehicle with a person in it – armed with weapon.
