Hinterland School Needs Your Signature To Keep Kids Safe
Near misses on road 'almost daily'

A small school in the hinterland says it's only a matter of time before a child is hit by a car on the busy road outside.
Numinbah Valley State School mum Jess Slingsby believes there are near misses "almost on a daily basis" on Numinbah-Murwillumbah Rd.
The community has launched a petition calling for improved safety for its students and staff.
Ms Slingsby said at the moment it was tricky for motorists to see there is a school there as they approach.
"We're at the end of a blind corner so people don't see the school until it's too late, so we want better signage, parking and a zebra crossing."
She says the school has been pleading for something to be done for nearly a decade.
"2009 I think the first letters were sent to local representatives, the minister for transport, police, council, so we've been pushing for a long time now."
The new online petition has gained 600 signatures in just a few days.
