Pop prince returning to Glitter Strip

Gold Coast hit by Bieber fever

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate says Justin Bieber is welcome on the Gold Coast, despite his graffiti attack on QT Hotel last time he dropped by the Glitter Strip.

The pop prince will follow in Adele's footsteps by giving Brisbane hotels a big miss, and instead stay on the Glitter Strip ahead of his all-ages show at Suncorp Stadium next Monday.

Councillor Tate told News Corp Bieber's welcome was conditional on him leaving the spray can behind, and suggested he planted a tree at the botanic gardens if he wanted to "leave his mark".

Justin Bieber kicked off the Australian leg of his Purpose Tour on Monday night in front of 25,000 fans at Perth's NIB Stadium.

His next stop is Melbourne on Friday night, before heading to Brisbane then Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
