With the swimming now done and dusted at the Commonwealth Games, all eyes are on Carrara Stadium for the athletics.
We have plenty of Aussies in action today including Anneliese Rubie in the 400m final, Brianna Coop in the women’s T35 100m final and Brandon Starc will be fighting for a podium finish in the men’s high jump final.
Tonight, the pressure’s on Aussie Henry Frayne in the Men’s long jump final to live up to yesterday’s impressive performance. He’s in with a shot to win gold after setting a new Games Record yesterday, jumping 8.34. Fellow Aussies Chris Mitrevski and Fabrice Lapierre are also competing in the long jump final.
Over to Coomera for the rhythmic gymnastics – the team final and individual qualification rotations are on today. That’s followed by the Team Final and Individual Qualification Sub Division 3 Rotation 4 gold medal event, featuring Aussies Enid Sung, Danielle Prince and Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva.
In the netball, Australia will take on Jamaica in the Pool A competition. As for hockey, fans are looking forward to a local derby, when Australia take on New Zealand in the Men’s Pool A competition.
Elsewhere today there are also Aussies competing in the beach volleyball, badminton, boxing, diving, lawn bowls, shooting, squash and table tennis.
