Carjacking Teens Caught After Violent Alleged Crime Spree

UPDATE: A 15-year-old boy has been charged over an alleged crime spree across the Gold Coast and into northern New South Wales.

The teenager from Varsity Lakes has been hit with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and drug possession.

More charges are expected.

EARLIER: Dramatic scenes on the Tweed yesterday as police chased a group of teenagers believed to be behind a recent crime-spree.

The group allegedly damaged dozens of cars, stealing three, between Bundall and Murwillumbah early Monday morning, stabbing a man in the process.

The car police were looking for eventually crashed outside Tweed City Shopping Centre yesterday evening.

That's when the shops were placed into lockdown while police brought in sniffer dogs to find two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old.

Another 15-year-old was also arrested at Varsity Lakes late last night.

The teens were still being questioned on Tuesday.
