Boy approached by stranger in Tweed Heads

Police are investigating after a child was approached by a stranger in the West Tweed Heads area yesterday evening.

The boy, possibly 12- or 13-years-old, was apparently approached by a man in a while 4WD, similar to the above image.

A witness noticed the incident and approached the pair, after overhearing the conversation between the two.

The man quickly drove off, and the witness told police the young blonde boy appeared shaken and told them he had never seen the man or vehicle before.

Police are requesting the young boy and his parents come forward and speak to them.

Officers also took the opportunity to remind parents to discuss “Stranger Danger”, with their kids.
