There is a massive 44 Gold medals up for grabs on the second last day of competition at the Commonwealth Games.
It comes with Australia sitting comfortably on top of the medal tally with 66 Gold, 49 Silver and 54 Bronze.
Aussie Chloe Hosking claimed the first Gold of the day, emerging victorious in the Women’s Road Race final, with the Men’s final still to come today.
It’s another big day at the Athletics finals at Carrara Stadium, including the Men’s Javelin Throw, Triple Jump and 1500m, as well as the Women’s High Jumps and 5000m, and finally the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays in both.
Our Women’s Basketball team is clashing with England in the Gold medal match, while the Diamonds have a Trans-Tasman grudge match with New Zealand for a spot in the final of the Netball.
Both the Aussie Men and Women’s team are taking on New Zealand in the Gold Medal matches for the Hockey, and the pool action continues at the Rugby 7s.
Five of our boxers are competing in Gold Medal clashes today, while there are also medals up for grabs in Badminton, Diving, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis and Wrestling.
