Wonthaggi Hospital is set to receive a $1.9 million equipment upgrade.
The state government's regional health infrastructure fund will assist Bass Coast Health in replacing an emergency lift and air handling systems.
The grant will also help to pay for the conducting of maintenance on safety features at the hospital.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews told Hit FM News this morning the upgrades are what the healthcare provider asked for to allow Wonthaggi Hospital to cater for the growth on the Bass Coast. "The funds are very important in terms of keeping this hospital functioning and allowing the great team of staff and volunteers to keep supporting the local community."
